Rediscovering My Love of Movement
When I started prioritizing getting my doctorate, increased the time I spent sitting, and burnt out from the triathlon circuit, I let these changes slow me down for too long.
Even though I had completed five Ironman races and endurance events in the past, one day I looked around and realized that moving hurt. I hadn’t done more than walk my dog. Daily movements and back pain were slowing me down. Getting off the floor was even a struggle.
I knew I needed to make a change. So, like many others, I got a Peloton during Covid, built a home gym, and started using both regularly to improve my strength, mobility and fitness.
Every day, no matter how I felt, I put on my shoes and made myself show up. Consistency was my mantra.
Now, I'm stronger and more agile than ever through my daily mobility routine and CrossFit.
